Madison Square Garden, that is.

During these last few days, I had the pleasure of spending my work days (and nights) at the wonderful Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Not only did I see some of the most beautiful dogs, I experienced love in a number of different ways. From emotional ring happenings to reconnecting with several friends, I think it’s safe to say that I was not the only one bitten by the love bug!

Most definitely, dogs can make you melt. This year at the Garden, I noticed two dogs in particular that made the whole arena go gaga!

First, here’s a view of the West Highland White Terrier ‘Justin,’ GCh. Deerhaven Hez Justin Kredible At Orion…

Secondly, just take a look at the Otterhound GCh. Aberdeen’s Under The Influence. This guy just fed off the attention he received at the Garden. You can even see how he’s looking at the crowd, and didn’t mind the cheering at all!I honestly was not expecting the crowd to go nuts over this dog, but they just loved him! And he didn’t seem to mind it either. That face definitely makes you feel the love!

Everyone has their favorites, but for me these two showstoppers really stood out.

And I’ll just bet that miss Savannah Livingston was feeling a lot of love in New York as she was chosen the 2013 Westminster Kennel Club Best Junior Handler! Congrats to Savannah of Flint, Michigan, and her Black Cocker Spaniel ‘Allie’ on this memorable win! We also hope to hear more from Savannah, so keep an eye out for a DFR interview with her in the near future.

Today is a day to celebrate love, so be sure to cuddle up with your two- and four-legged friends. It’ll make you smile and give you a reason to spread a little love in our own personal way. Here’s my poetic Valentine’s Day gift to DFR readers:

Ridgebacks are Red, Kerrys are Blue, show dogs are sweet and so are you too!

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of my DFR readers, and don’t forget…

Dogs Freakin’ Rule!
