New Englanders can check out the Rhode Island Kennel Club’s two shows in Warwick. Harrisburg, PA, is only a couple of hours from both New York & Washington, DC, and offers three days of shows hosted by the Mason And Dixon Kennel Club, the Lebanon County Kennel Club & the Harrisburg Kennel Club.
Look for the Great Lakes residents in Crown Point, IN, for a weekend with the Steel City Kennel Club. Perry, GA, just south of Atlanta and an easy drive for most of us here in the South, has the unusual format of the Valdosta Kennel Club & the Atlanta Kennel Club’s two all-breed shows, followed by Sunday’s North Georgia Hound Association limited breed show.
In the Great Plains, you have the option of four all-breed shows in Grove, OK, courtesy of the Bartlesville Kennel Club & the Northeast Oklahoma Kennel Club or two in the Texas state capital with the hometown Austin Kennel Club. We also have the rare Mountain Time Zone dog show in Brighton, CO, thanks to Terry-All Kennel Club.
West Coast fanciers will have multiple choices with the Ephrata-Moses Lake Kennel Club’s two in Moses Lake, WA, the Sacramento Kennel Club’s two in the California state capital (Terrier enthusiasts should not miss the Northern California Terrier Association limited breed shows on Thursday & Friday., and the two limited breeds offered by the Western Hound Association of Southern California in the Orange County burg of Silverado, CA.
For the ultimate dog show vacation, check out the Windward Hawaiian Dog Fanciers Association in Kaneohe. It’s a dog show junkie’s version of spring break. I will be in NORCAL visiting my family and taking in the Terrier-heavy action in Sacramento on Saturday. Where will you be? And that’s today’s Back Story.
