OPEN DIVISION QUALIFYING

New this year is the Open Division.  This division will consist of Ladies, Youth, and Hunter competitors.  To qualify to compete in this event, the dog must either be on the list of qualified dogs OR have run a minimum of 1 competition run from the day after Labor Day 2014 to Labor Day 2015.

TOP GUN DIVISION FORMAT

PRELIMINARY ROUND: Each competition run will consist of a single 5-bird competition run. Fields will be broken up into several smaller brackets. Example: If there are 80 entries, 4 fields will be used. Each field will have 20 runs that will be split into 4 groups of 5. From those 5, 2 dogs will advance to second round competition (32 dogs).

SECOND ROUND: Each second round competition run will consist of a single 5-bird competition run. 32 dogs will be split into two fields. Each field will have 16 runs that will be split into 4 groups of 4. From those 4 groups, one dog will advance from each group on to the FINALS. In addition, we will advance the overall best score from each field to the FINALS as well making a 10 dog

FINALS competition.

FINALS competition will consist of a single 5-bird competition run. Of those 10 dogs, only 1 will be crowned World Champion!

Again, this example is based on 80 entries.  Field, brackets, etc. will all be determined based on the number of entries received.

DOUBLES DIVISION FORMAT

Like the Top Gun Division, the Doubles Division will include a preliminary round and Finals competition. Preliminary round will include a single 5-bird competition. Again, based on entries, fields will be split into several smaller groups. Of each of those groups, a later specified number of dogs will advance to the finals. Finals competition will consist of a single 5-bird competition run.

OPEN DIVISION FORMAT

The Open Division will include a preliminary round and the finals. Dogs will compete in a preliminary 4-bird competition run. Based on the total number of entries, a certain number of dogs will advance to the FINALS.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE HANDLE MY DOG & ARE HEAT DOGS PERMITTED

YES! If you would like someone else to handle your dog for one reason or another (unable to attend but want to send the dogs), we do not prohibit this. However, any participants must be current members and in good standings with the National Bird Dog Circuit.

YES! You must inform us of a dog in heat however. If you as a competitor allow a heat dog to enter the competition field, this will result in an automatic disqualification.
