A Guide Dog Family, plus Competing with the Pros

Socializing puppies on their way to careers as Guide Dogs is something for which the Prindle family of Seattle has plenty of experience. Editor Susan Chaney introduces a mother of two whose personal circumstances started a tradition that has prepared 30 dogs for a life of service. Meet the woman whose love for dogs spawned a cottage industry at home, and find out what she’s doing with a Guide Dog of her very own.

Competing with professional handlers can be an intimidating experience for the novice exhibitor. When contributing writer Tricia Stanczyk began showing dogs, her nerves often got the best of her. Learn how this English Setter and Parson Russell Terrier fancier took the advice of a legendary dog woman to find success in the dog sport.
