Breeder-judge David Alexander tells Social Media Maven Pilar Kuhn that he was introduced to the Bull Terrier while house sitting for a friend in Toronto. For 30 years, he and his wife, Carolyn, have enjoyed sharing their lives with the breed long admired for its personality, strength and character. Listen in as David invites students of the breed to attend the “Silverwood Weekend,” the Bull Terrier Club of America event that is perhaps the most prestigious match show in the dog world.
The Dalmatian has exclusive bragging rights to the title Carriage Dog. The distinctively spotted breed has been associated with stables and stagecoaches for centuries, and still enjoys horsing around today. Although its exact origins remain a mystery, the future looks bright for this clever and companionable canine horse-whisperer.

This active and energetic breed remains little changed since its image first appeared on the walls of Egyptian tombs. For centuries, artists in Europe, Asia and Northern Africa have immortalized spotted dogs similar in appearance to today’s breed. An early Renaissance fresco in a Florentine chapel bears witness to the Dalmatian’s antiquity. more
