The Art Show at the Dog Show has been a fixture at the Sunflower Cluster in Wichita, Kan., for more than a quarter century. The juried competition of original works has drawn entries from around the world, with the winning piece donated to the AKC Museum of the Dog each year. Senior Editor Christi McDonald interviews the event’s founder to learn the secrets of its success.
Senior Editor Bo Bengtson understands that many people who love dogs are concerned about their health. Some fanciers feel that our dogs need more veterinary care today than in the past, although reliable comparisons with the dogs of long ago aren’t truly possible. Bo takes a look at the health records of the litters he’s bred over nearly 50 years and asks, “Are purebred dogs really at risk?”
Many of this year’s top show dogs are featured in their own beautiful mini-websites on Best In Show Daily. Simply click on a banner ad to see the dog’s up-to-date show history, plus a slide show of photos that reveals exactly why it’s a top dog.
