About: Christi McDonald

Christi McDonald

Christi McDonald is a second-generation dog person, raised with a kennel full of Cairn Terriers. After more than a decade as a professional handler’s apprentice and handling professionally on her own, primarily Poodles and Cairns, she landed a fortuitous position in advertising sales with the monthly all-breed magazine ShowSight. This led to an 11-year run at Dogs in Review, where she wore several hats, including advertising sales rep, ad sales manager and, finally, editor for five years. Christi is proud to be part of the editorial team for the cutting-edge Best In Show Daily. She lives in Apex, N.C., with two homebred black Toy Poodles, the last of her Foxfire line, and a Norwich Terrier.

There’s nothing like holding those wriggling babies in your hands for the first time, hearing their first little cries, seeing those beloved dams nurturing their own, then watching them grow and develop over the following few months. I’ve found over Continue Reading

Best In Show Daily’s Who’s Who: Angela Lloyd

Professional handler Angela Lloyd is a second-generation dog show person who, at a fairly young age, has had great success so far in the sport. She handled the 2011 Westminster Best in Show-winning Scottish Deerhound, GCh. Foxcliffe Hickory Wind. Angie answered our Who’s Who questions. 1. Where were you born? Washington, D.C. 2. A Wealth of Knowledge in One Book: ‘Keys to Top Breeding’

If your hobby is breeding and showing dogs and you’re not learning something new almost every day, you’re probably not paying attention. But some sources of information about our hobby and the sport of dogs are superior to others, and I recently discovered one that is almost exactly the kind of book I would put Continue Reading
