Dog Show Language, plus Shows Closing May 29, 2013

Senior Editor Bo Bengtson suggests that although technology can improve our typing skills, it can also lead to a deterioration of our spelling and grammar skills. “The most important part of all this is that we agree on what a word means, and that punctuation doesn’t interfere with how a sentence is understood,” says Bo. Find out about tradition’s role in the language of the modern dog show.

“Many clubs are really working hard to offer their exhibitors much more than the traditional dog show experience.” So writes Senior Editor Christi McDonald as she takes a look at the special features offered at upcoming shows in California, Idaho, Oregon and Pennsylvania. I’ve noticed over the past year or so, in reporting on innovative offerings at shows all over the United States, that by and large the clubs that are doing new and different things at their shows are located in pockets around the country.
