Slowing down is not an option for Irish Water Spaniel enthusiast Stephanie O’Reilly. Editor Susan Chaney introduces readers to a woman who has done just about everything with her dogs simply by working with their innate desire to please. Meet the busy working professional who has scheduled nearly every weekend through the year just so she can compete with her dogs in conformation, obedience, agility and field events.
Social Media Maven Pilar Kuhn says that her parents have been well-trained to prepare for visits with her pack. In today’s Down and Back, Pilar highlights some of her dog’s antics that – despite the occasional body slam – keep the “grandparents” coming back for more.

Stephanie O’Reilly’s Dogs Do Just About Everything
By Susan Chaney
It’s June 14, 2012, and Stephanie O’Reilly knows what she’ll be doing virtually every weekend for the rest of this year. She’ll be at one conformation show, then at performance trials for all but five of them.
She doesn’t work for the American Kennel Club or the United States Dog Agility Association, nor is she a professional handler. O’Reilly will simply be taking her four Irish Water Spaniels around the regions surrounding her Germantown, Md., home, working on their titles and giving them the chance to do what they love best – pleasing her. more
