Florida Finale, Day Four

Saturday, December 15, 2012

8:00 AM

GCH CH Itsa Brix

I’m starting my day with Richard Beauchamp and his 30 Bulldogs this morning. I have had an affinity since I was a toddler (some 60 years ago), and today’s entry was terrific.  It will be the white Bulldog, GCH CH Itsa Brix, in Carl Gomes’  Non-Sporting Group tonight.

9:00 AM

GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor

Pugs are always competitive and Robert Hutton had 30 of them from which to choose a Best of Breed, including 20 specials.  His BOB was the Florida based GCH CH Caper’s Serius Endeavor.

11:00 AM

I made a quick visit too Anne MacDonald’s ring to see her eight Greyhounds, all in the Best of Breed competition.  I specifically wanted to see GCH CH GrandCro Clos Erasmus, who had been the Number One Greyhound and a Top Ten Dog All Breeds a couple of seasons ago.  She was entered along with her daughter, CH GrandCru Staggs Leap at Mistweave and her BIS winning  half brother GrandCru Paleo of Sobers. It was a family affair, but it was GCH CH Chaparral Isle of  Skye who took home her third BOB of the week.

12:30 PM

GCH CH Shiraz California Dreamin’

Judge MacDonald also had an entry of 30 Salukis. (30 seems to be the lucky number at this year’s AENC). Among them was the Swedish Saluki, that has shown here at the AENC four consecutive years, CH Shiraz California Dreamin’. Actual born and bred in California, the six year old dog has had a stellar career including Number One Dog in Sweden and First Reserve at the World Doh Show. Today he won the breed for the first time in four AENC appearances.

2:00 PM

I have returned to Richard Beuchamp’s ring to see his 29 Bichon Frises.  I had hoped to see a couple of the dogs that Wade Koistinen the fray late in the season, but those that did show  were beautifully and beautifully presented.  His Best of Breed was one of the Dog Show Poop DOGS2WATCH, GCH CH PaRay’s Power & Privilege.
