Focus on the Breed Ring, plus Genk 2013

Senior Editor Christi McDonald shares the opinion of many fanciers who would like to see our focus return to the evaluation of breeding stock. With so much emphasis placed on campaigning, attention is continually diverted from the breed ring, where the nuances of each individual breed may be rewarded. Although she has won her fair share of red, white and blue rosettes, find out about the exciting specialty win of which Christi is most proud.

More than 2,100 dogs were welcomed this year at the Limburgse Kynologen Vereniging show held in the Belgian town of Genk. Contributing writer Karl Donvil reports on the event that attracted exhibitors from all over Europe, Scandinavia and Russia to compete under a truly international panel of judges. Meet the Frenchie from Russia that’s collecting compliments in several dog-loving countries.

That is a difference of 44 percent! more
