Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia and a Weekend to Remember

Editor Susan Chaney interviews an associate professor of small animal internal medicine at Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences to find out about a life-threatening blood disease. When a dog’s own immune system begins to attack the red blood cells, symptoms can mirror those of other conditions, including zinc toxicity. Learn the clinical signs that point to immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, and discover why their sudden appearance is a real emergency that requires aggressive treatment.

DFR Blogger Kayla Bertagnolli has been keeping busy this year covering the show scene from coast to coast. So when our feature photographer had the opportunity to experience “Montgomery” for the first time, she thought it would be just another assignment. Find out how meeting the photographers whose work inspires her made the experience a weekend to remember.

Many of this year’s top show dogs are featured in their own beautiful mini-websites on Best In Show Daily. Simply click on a banner ad to see the dog’s up-to-date show history, plus a slide show of photos that reveals exactly why it’s a top dog.
