Junior Handlers at AKC/Eukanuba, plus Florida Finale, Day One

Since the very first AKC/Eukanuba National Championship was held in Orlando, Fla., in 2001, the Junior Showmanship competition has been a big part of the festivities. DFR Blogger Kayla Bertagnolli presents each of the event’s previous winners, including last year’s Best Junior Handler, Emma Grayson, who represented the U.S. at Crufts. So who will be this year’s winner from the 190 juniors competing? Stay tuned this weekend for all the results from Kayla.

Billy Wheeler is at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., for the first of five days of all-breed competition. Today’s Space Coast Kennel Club of Palm Bay kicks off the cluster that ends with the crowning of this year’s AKC/Eukanuba Best in Show winner on Sunday night. Stay tuned to The Back Story all week long for results from ringside and color commentary from our Blogger-in-Chief.

Best In Show Daily and Dog Show Results are covering each of the events taking place in Orlando, from the all-breed shows to the AKC National Obedience Invitational and the AKC Agility Invitational. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter today through Sunday, and be sure to check out Dog Show Results and our photo galleries for the Group and Best in Show winners.

Florida Finale, Day One
By Billy Wheeler

I'm here at the Orange County Convention Center for the first of the three warm ups for the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship (AENC). Today's offering is the Space Coast Kennel Club of Palm Bay. Because it is the only all breed show in the US today, I am expecting to see most of our top dogs. For those of you who have not been to the Orlando Venue, you will have thought you died and gone to heaven. more
