One of the best things about our sport today is the opportunity that it presents to anyone who wants to participate. This is especially true for the future of our sport: junior handlers.
The AKC’s Junior Showmanship program has helped thousands of kids to learn about the care and handling of dogs. Many of today’s successful breeders, handlers and judges got their start as juniors, and as adults they often give back to the sport by offering classes, seminars and scholarships.
Best In Show Daily joins with fanciers in supporting junior handlers of all ages who will one day be in “our shoes,” so to speak. After all, in a few years, today’s 9-year-old will be mentoring the next generation of juniors!
You can always count on us to provide news and information about the latest happenings in the world of Junior Showmanship. From inspiring interviews with the AKC/Eukanuba and Westminster winners, to the latest rule and regulation changes, we never forget that juniors are the future of the sport.
Today we feature several articles that highlight the true value of the Junior Showmanship program and its impact on the lives of everyone who participates. We hope you’re as inspired by their stories as we are.
