The Krew Cleans Up and Is Crate Safe

This week, the Krew is off sniffing out great products to keep dogs fresh, safe, and tidy

PetHead ($6.99-$12.99)
Problem: recommending products for your puppy, pet clients that aren’t overly complicated, and are fun to use. We love our pet clients. We want them to feel good about getting our puppies or retired dogs or rescues. They want simple, easy maintenance for their pets to keep them looking their very best. Pet owers shop at Pet Supply stores, or large retailers, not at the shows. Complex products, complex maintenance routines can be overwhelming.

Solution: The Krew recommends PetHead a full line of wet & dry shampoos, and conditioners for all coat textures, baby wipes for dogs & cats, deodorizing sprays for both canine and feline and now nail polishes! They are economical, and can be found at most pet stores and major retailers. Deliciously scented, pampered pooches will smell of Strawberry Lemonade, Watermelon, Blueberry Muffin, Pineapple, Green Apple Kiwi. Not overpowering, the scent lasts 24 hours, drying down to a good clean odor that’s not overwhelming tootie fruity! The packaging is a blast: bright colors, no mess shampoo & conditioner pop tops, perfect spouted spray bottles with bone-shaped toppers.

Impact Case & Container ($429.99-$549.99)
problem: impact resistant crates. After the horrifying crashes of this year, the Krew is looking for safe, high quality crates.

Solution: Impact Case & Container. Made in 3 sizes, stationary and folding versions. Don’t just take the Krew’s word for it. Well-known fanciers The Caswell’s of Wavemaker Staffords were very pleased with the quality, “the prices are very competitive and the quality is outstanding!”

Here’s their “case” study. The large size was orderd for the house and Impact Case & Container created a “medium size” crate for travel. Two wheels were added to the back and an extra handle to the front so it can easily be rolled through the airport or a dog show.

Customer service was also a plus. When the house crates latches on the doors began to fail – made of window locks – the engineers upgraded and changed the hardware, shipping new crates free of charge!

Psst! Insider Tip: Impact Case & Containers are easily customized. The Caswell’s of Wavemaker Staffords added: a D Ring on the door for crate ID tags, a D Ring inside for water buckets, extra handles and more view-ability on the doors. They also had them custom painted. The new door latches were excellent quality and very easy to use with one hand. The crates are lightweight but strong, easy to clean and the crate pads from Primo Pad fit perfectly in both sizes. They stack really well and are very stable so the top one doesn’t wobble when the dog is inside.

Impact Case & Container Crates are:

  • • Easy to set up and collapse
  • • 20% Lighter than comparable crates
  • • Marine grade slam latch and hardware provides optimal security for your pet
  • • No having to lock door behind pet
  • • Increased airflow with larger vent holes and door openings
  • • Impact and stacking corners – these corners provide exceptional impact protection as well as stacking for multiple cases
  • • Rounded square vents for air flow and illusion of direct line of site causing less stress
  • • Weld rivet construction
  • • 3/8 Inch round bars welded with cross bar for stability
  • • Larger airline rails
  • • Airline rail storage slots
  • • IATA compliant
  • • Handle for carrying ease of collapsed crate
  • • Durable powder coat inside and outside

Crystal White or EZ Groom Crystal White Enzyme Shampoo Concentrate ($15.99)
Problem: keeping white dogs white and not overbathing. The Krew is bathed about monthly. They aren’t dirty dogs, spending a good deal of their time indoors, under foot or at shows. Reds and brindles don’t show dirt! But the little white creature is often dingy, she likes it that way. Grass stains, grease stains, dirt smudges, it’s endless what she can come up with.

Solution: EZ Groom Crystal White Enzyme Shampoo Concentrate. EZ Groom Crystal White Enzyme Shampoo not only whitens, but with its coconut-based cleansing agents it also removes tear, saliva, urine stains, oil, grass stains, blood, soil and other organic stains. It’s the perfect product for dogs like the little Kreature. Psst! Insider Tip: warm the product by placing it in a cup of heated water. This will prevent scorching. It’s economical and can be used sparingly, The Krew dilutes it 8:1. Lather into the coat. Leave for five minutes. Okie dokie, white, bright, fresh and ready for a show.

Are the crate people working on anything larger than their current large crate?

    • Lynn December 18, 2013 at 5:58 PM

Please spare me the fruity smells that reek of penny candy. They are gaggy and can’t replace the smell of a clean dog. Are you paid to endorse these products?

    • Cassandra de la Rosa December 18, 2013 at 3:27 PM

I would like to know if you are paid to endorse these products, and your readers are entitled to know as well.

Hi Cassandra, for your dogs, these would not be the right products. Kristina points out these are intended for pet/puppy clients that want to purchase nice products at their regular retailers. She likes the scents and mentions that it dries down to a clean, not fruity scent. Our editorials are genuine editorial based on the writer’s use and opinion. We are not paid to endorse any products. Hope this helps.
