I have reviewed all the results from this past week’s 53 all-breed shows, and there are some clear winners that emerged from the multiple show clusters.
First out of the gate was the country’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm. Oakley & handler Phil Booth copped the first two big rosettes in Kalamazoo, MI, then added three more Sporting Group firsts to the tally. The English Setter, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, went one better, grabbing three large BIS in Pomona, CA, and an extra Sporting Group Two for good measure. Peyton and handler Robin Novack started the week in the Number Four All Breeds spot and finished just shy of the Number Two position.
Back on the East Coast, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe v Tani Kazari, roared into the Number One Toy Dog spot on the strength of three BIS in Hampton, VA. The nation’s Number One Hound, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, has been stuck in the bottom half of the Top Twenty for the past several weeks. Jewel and breeder/owner-handler Lisa Miller collected two BIS, as well as two Group Ones and a Group Two in New Castle, PA, good enough to put her at the Top Ten’s doorstep.
One of our DOGS2WATCH had a very good week. The Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Skyscots Texas Hold’Em, scampered away with three of the four BIS in Tulsa, OK, as well as all four Terrier Group Firsts. Decker and handler Brenda Combs have five big rosettes this year all coming in the last six weeks.
All of our Top Ten did well enough this week to remain in that exclusive club. Picking up single BIS this past week were the Number Five Dog All Breeds, the Miniature Pinscher GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare; Number Eight, the Wire Fox Terrier GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky; & Number Nine, the Standard Poodle GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction.
2012 remains one of the closest races in recent memory. Remember you will get the latest rankings at Dog Show Poop and all The Back Story here on Best In Show Daily.
