Several of our competitors may feel like they have been hit by a steam roller after this past week’s shows where multiple BIS seemed to be the rule rather than the exception. All four of our Top Four Dogs All Breeds managed to pick up duplicate rosettes this week. The largest prize was in Syracuse NY where all four BIS at the Salt City Cluster were taken by the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm. The wins put him just shy of the Number Two Dog All breeds. The point total wasn’t as high in Concord NC, but if you win three all-breed Bests and a Group Two, it adds up. Just ask the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek Impression de Mattise. The wins make the Numbers Two, Three & Four dogs a very chummy group.

Our Number One Dog, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, is not taking anything for granted. She was in Las Vegas padding her resume with two more BIS at the Silver State Kennel Club events. Number Two, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, did likewise, capturing both BIS in Atlanta this weekend. However, not all of the multiple wins were confined to Top Ten Dogs. The Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller N Lore Diamond Lil, pulled off the hat trick in Mitchell NE, absconding with the top awards at all three of the Scottsbluff Kennel Club shows.

However, these dogs who have been dominating the show ring this season may be in for a major surprise. We have it on very good authority that the Chinese coal baron who just paid almost $1.5M for a Tibetan Mastiff, has reached an agreement with one of our A-List professional handlers to show one of his TMs here in the US. It will be interesting to see what unlimited funds, coupled with an impressive show dog and talented handler, can do.  Looks like the first quarter was just a preliminary round.  It’s just April 1st.
