Oklahoma Entries and Favorite Show Vendor Finds

In The Back Story today, Master Blogger Billy Wheeler sets his sights on this month’s Summer Classic in Oklahoma City. The Cox Convention Center is preparing to open its doors, now that entries have closed for the four all-breed shows and the wide variety of specialties scheduled to take place. Learn how this cluster succeeded in drawing a total entry of 6,178 to its party and, find out which of the Groups is best represented.

Dog shows are great places to see beautiful dogs, of course, but they’re also terrific locations to scout vendors for every imaginable dog-related trinket and treasure. Editor Susan Chaney readily admits that she turns into a shopaholic whenever she goes to a show. Discover a few of her favorite finds and learn who have been the lucky recipients of her thoughtful purchases.

Be sure to check out Best In Show Daily’s many photo galleries, where you’ll find recent winners and candid snapshots from shows held near and far. Just click on Show Scene below the masthead banner or select any of the images in the left-hand column of our home page.

Oklahoma City by the Numbers

I will be continuing my travels across America with a visit to Oklahoma City next week for the four-day OKC Summer Classic beginning Thursday. Although this is just the eighth year the Mid-Del-Tinker Kennel Club and Oklahoma City Kennel Club have teamed up to bring us four all-breed shows, it has already become one of the most anticipated events each summer.

The counts are in, and we are pleased to find that all four days have drawn well. more
