Posh Pet ID debuts High Tech QR Code Charm Dog Collars and Cat Collars Based on Jewelry Designs

New York, NY. October 28, 2013. Posh Pet ID has developed QR code charm collars for pets, inspired by jewelry designs. The online shop can be viewed on Etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop/PoshPetID.

Dog and cat lovers alike will be delighted to learn about the launch of a new product pets can wear stylishly, while keeping them safe. An alternative to tracking device chips placed under the skin, Posh Pet ID has created high tech QR Code collars which, when scanned, lead to a secure page hosted online with information owners select to share.

Each collar comes with both a QR coded tag, as well as a charm. Tags say “Help me, I’m lost” on the reverse, along with the QR code, a “scan me above” line, and a laser printed url leading to the pet’s page. The front of the tag is laser engraved with the pet’s name. Laser engravings include a choice of one of four fonts: Garamond, Comic Sans, Monotype or Herculanum, and are available in either large or small sizes, various shapes, as well as in either stainless steel or brass metals. The large tags are perfect for medium to large sized pets, while the small tags are ideal for cats and small dogs. The additional add-on charms are inspired by popular jewelry designs, and include a choice of 36 styles, including a: four leaf clover, bicycle, moustache, anchor, seashell, golfer, skull and crossbones, an owl and more.

Carol Dounn, VP for PhotoScribe, came to her employer with the idea of creating PoshPetID. She says, “I grew up in the jewelry industry and as a mother to two teenage boys and two dogs plus being a ‘babysitter’ to many other cats and dogs, I wanted to create a stylish Pet ID collar to help lost pets find their way home easily. My boys, if they got lost, could pick up a phone and call me…but my dogs can’t. After years of tinkering with different ideas, I crafted a Pet ID tag with a laser engraved QR code that can be easily scanned and immediately linked to a personal pet page on the internet-quick and informative. With over 22 years working with PhotoScribe, a laser engraving company, and my background in jewelry, I have selected personal charms that are fun, whimsical and inspirational.”

When technology meets tradition, amazing things can happen. The custom page linked to each individual collar, includes as much information an owner wants to share from a variety of categories.

Collars are available in gingham, leather, reflective glow-in-the-dark, faux python, studded, rhinestone, and argyle styles, as well as in a variety of colors and sizes. A look for every lassie, kitty and proud owner, Posh Pet ID’s QR code collars range from classic to cutting edge.
