Snow Day!

That’s right, guys! We had an actual snow day when it’s impossible to get to work, school is canceled, and you’re lucky if you can make it 10 feet out of your driveway!

Now I know that isn’t the case for everyone. You can rub in your 60-degree weather all you want, but as a Utah native I’m the first to admit that I love the winter season. We actually have winter here!

Not everyone gets as excited as I do, and while life can be a bit more difficult for us humans, it can also be a lot of fun too. And if your dogs are anything like mine, I’d bet they feel exactly the same way! In fact, they may love it more than I do…

Two of my Beagles, young and younger, playing in the snow!

Snow days aren’t all just about building snowmen, having snowball fights and drinking hot cocoa. If you let your four-legged friends join you in some of the fun, it becomes all about quality bonding time! Even if the snow is deeper than your actual dog…

My Corgi Elliott playing in the fresh powder that is deeper than he is!

There are lots of fun activities you can do with your dog in the snow when you take the day off work or school. You can take your pups with you sledding, throw snowballs for them to chase and bury treats for them to find! Whatever you do, be sure to make it fun and safe! If you’re getting cold, there’s a chance your dog is too! And even though it’s really cold, they still need lots of water to drink.

So what are you waiting for? If you live where the snow is coming down, get outside with your pup and PLAY!

And remember, Dogs Freakin’ Rule, even in the snow!

Thank God I don’t live there. Where I’m at is bad enough! Give me that 60 degree weather….70….80 even better! Have fun in your shaved ice! :-)
