Springtime Fun for Happy Easter Puppies

The first day of spring was just last week, and although some of us may not be seeing much sunshine outside, there’s no doubt that the season is right around the corner.

So, on one of our recent sunnier days here in Utah I took advantage of the warm weather to take my puppies outside for a little playtime. We even had a little Easter-themed photo shoot, and let’s just say they had way too much fun!

After we played for about an hour, these little pups were ready for their close-up.

As you can see from the photos, this particular afternoon was spring fun at its finest. These little guys went hog-wild running around the yard, playing and, you’d better believe it, attacking me! While I was lying on the ground trying to get some cute candid photos, my mother played the role of puppy wrangler. (Don’t let her tell you differently; she actually loves the job.)

However, half the time as I found myself trying to take a picture, I realized there were no puppies in front of me. Why were there no puppies to photograph, you may ask? Well, you may know that to a group of puppies, a person lying on the ground – aka me – is much more interesting to jump on, give puppy kisses to, and say, “Hi!” to than getting their picture taken.

At times though, they were good little models – if eating the props makes for a good model, that is.

Easter egg hunter!

Now for most dog fanciers, Easter is just another dog show day. But while many of us will be in the ring this Sunday, there’s no reason not to take along your little ones – puppies and kids – and have a little Easter-springtime fun of your own. If nothing else, it will be a good excuse to kick-start spring!

OK, I’ll leave you with one more cute picture…

Here’s wishing you a Happy Spring and, for those who celebrate Easter, an even happier holiday!

See, I told you. Dogs Freakin Rule!

I’d much rather have a bucketful of puppies than a bucketful of dyed eggs… Who wouldn’t?
