The Buzz about Bulldogs, plus 2014 Westminster Judges

The Bulldog has existed in one form or another in England for centuries, a living legacy of Brittania’s distant past as a trading post and Roman outpost. Utilized for the once legal sport of bull baiting, the affable breed adored by thousands of fanciers today is a far cry from the original canine gladiator. Meet the resolute and courageous Brit with the massive mug and equable manners.

Senior Editor Christi McDonald introduces the Westminster Kennel Club’s 2014 judging panel. Forty-four judges will preside over the midtown Manhattan event, with breed judging held once again at Piers 92/94, and Group and Best in Show judging taking place at the Garden. Meet next year’s panel of expert adjudicators headed by Ms. Betty Regina Leininger of Frisco, Texas.

Many of this year’s top show dogs are featured in their own beautiful mini-websites on Best In Show Daily. Simply click on a banner ad to see the dog’s up-to-date show history, plus a slide show of photos that reveals exactly why it’s a top dog.
