The Buzz About Welsh Terriers, plus a Bit of Dog Show Insight

The Welsh Terrier is an all-around companion and hunter, developed in its native Wales for tackling badger, otter and fox. Known as the Old English Terrier and the Black-and-Tan Wire Haired Terrier, the breed today remains a game hunter with a compact body and a courageous spirit. Discover some of the unique characteristics that set the Welshman apart from his Terrier brethren.

Editor Susan Chaney was surprised to discover that she could share details with her family about many of the show dogs that appeared on this year’s televised National Dog Show Presented by Purina. Her knowledge of the competitors, she realized, is a result of her work editing Billy Wheeler’s Back Story and Christi McDonald’s Fancy That. Find out how two of our feature editors have helped to keep Susan – and our international audience – entertained and informed.

Many of this year’s top show dogs are featured in their own beautiful mini-websites on Best In Show Daily. Simply click on a banner ad to see the dog’s up-to-date show history, plus a slide show of photos that reveals exactly why it’s a top dog.
