The Happy Dance!

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” – Gandhi.

This little guy knows how to find happiness in the ring!

There’s no doubt that our dogs essentially know what we are feeling and how to react. Lately I’ve noticed, though, that even with all of the added pressure that comes with the end of the year countdown the dogs around the show rings have seemed spunky and, in general, just happy!

A little high five can go a long way!

Dogs respond uniquely to our emotions. They are like little dedicated detectives who read our facial expressions to see what they can do to make us feel happy or comfort us when needed. And I have to say, seeing all these dogs key in to their handlers’ emotions definitely puts a smile on my face! It’s as if they’re tuned into that stress that they don’t even feel themselves and will do just about anything to ease it.

Handler Gabriel Rangel and Wire Fox Terrier ‘Sky,’ GCh. Afterall Painting The Sky, doing their happy dance after winning a Group First.

So hopefully, somewhere out there, many of us are doing our very own happy dances in celebration of a great win, a new experience or just because we live with our dogs. If we enjoy the shows and each other as much as our dogs do, we’ll all be good to go!

Another reason that Dogs Freakin’ Rule!

in the end, the dogs don’t care where they end up in the rankings … they know they’re always a winner :)
