The Show Week Is Upon Us!

Storm Clouds Over a each in Biloxi MS

I am still digging out from under the results from 53 all-breed shows last week, but I feel obliged to let you know that the new show week is already upon us.

The Bow Wow Luau Cluster (I couldn’t make this stuff up) is off and running in Gridley, CA, with the Butte County Kennel Club’s first of two shows in the four-show stop. The Shasta Kennel Club will finish up the set with its two outings. Also underway is the Riverside West Kennel Club Of Greater New Orleans day one show in Biloxi, MS, (affectionately know here as the Redneck Riviera). The RWKCGNO has teamed with the Northlake Kennel Club of Greater Covington to bring you a great four days on the Gulf. The Gateway Sporting Dog Association and the Gateway Terrier Association are also on deck today in Gray Summit, MO, as warmups for the Missouri Rhineland Kennel Club & the Mississippi Valley Kennel Club four shows starting tomorrow.

There are also three-day weekends available in Wrightstown, PA, courtesy of the Greater Philadelphia Dog Fanciers Association, the Huntingdon Valley Kennel Club & the Burlington County Kennel Club, in West Fargo, ND, with the Fargo-Moorhead Kennel Club, and in Longmont, CO, brought to you by the Metro Mile Hi Kennel Club & the Flatirons Kennel Club.

The rest of our 35 all-breed shows this week are of the traditional weekend type. New Englanders can see beautiful AKC dogs in Wrentham, MA, at the Ladies’ Dog Club & the Framingham District Kennel Club shows. In the Mid-Atlantic, try a weekend in Charlottesville with the Charlottesville-Albemarle Kennel Club. Great Lakes residents can choose between two with the Toledo Kennel Club in Maumee, OH, or two with the Fox River Valley Kennel Club in Woodstock, IL.

In addition to the Gray Summit events in the Heartland, there are the Southern Indiana Kennel Club’s two shows in Corydon, IN. Our remaining shows are out on the West Coast. The previously mentioned shows in Gridley are north of Sacramento. Your Southern California options are the Pasadena Kennel Club’s two shows in its hometown. Finishing this week’s offerings are the Yakima Valley Kennel Club’s shows in Yakima, WA.

Hopefully you are fully recovered from the Memorial Day weekend and are ready for some more canine entertainment. You will not find more beautiful dogs or more knowledgeable people than at an AKC dog show. And that’s today’s Back Story.
