The BIS Winners, plus a Former Junior Pursues Her Dream

Several purebreds have been awarded an all-breed Best in Show or two this year without the benefit of enjoying big name recognition. Blogger-in-Chief Billy Wheeler has taken note of these wins, and he's learned that many of the top awards have been won by new faces. Billy's crunching the numbers to find out just how many in today's Back Story.

DFR Blogger Kayla Bertagnolli introduces a young lady who’s making the transition to becoming a professional handler. Kelly VanNatter enjoyed competing in Junior Showmanship while she worked as an assistant, and now she’s showing dogs on her own. Find out whom she credits for her education in dogs, and discover what it’s like to handle post-juniors.

Best In Show Daily invites you to participate in our latest online poll. Each week we ask readers to share their opinions on a topic of interest to breeders, exhibitors and dog lovers everywhere. This week we’d like to know if you think the language of the standard clearly defines your breed. To participate in our poll, go directly to the right-hand column of our home page at Let us know what you think!
