Up-To-Date Numbers

TOP TEN

Some pressing family issues and a bout with the flu have kept me from updating my statistics, but I spent this morning compiling the latest numbers for you. The Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, maintains an impressive lead over the field, with better than 26,500 points. The Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, and the German Wirehaired Pointer, Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, are in a virtual tie at just over 20,000 points and the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek Impression de Matisse trails them by 1000 points.

The Number Five Dog, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, is well behind the leaders, trailing the Porti, Matisse, by more than 5,000 points. 1,500 points behind the Foxhound, Jewell, is the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, who is 1,000 points up on the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration with Traddles.

Our remaining three dogs all hail from the Working Group: the Standard Schnauzer, GCH
CH Blackhawk’s Finnegan’s Wake, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Chancellor Flirt’s Hi Flyin’ Gladiator, and the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici.

As surprised as I was to see four Working Dogs in the Top Ten, I was more surprised to see only one Non-Sporting in the Top Twenty, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, at the Number 11 spot. The Herding Group representatives in the Top Twenty are the Shetland Sheepdogs, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Box and GCH CH PaRay Preferential, coming in a Numbers 19 and 20, respectively.

If I take anything from the above numbers it is that our season is still very much coming together. I suspect we will see dogs in the Top Ten that are still unknown to most of us. It’s what keeps me coming back. And that’s today’s Back Story.

Sorry you’ve been under the weather, Billy – have missed your reports, but having done my own bout with whatever killer flu is still lingering two weeks ago you have my sympathy. Thanks for the update, and hope you’re feeling better!
