Where to Find Junior Results and Stats

Finding Junior Showmanship results and statistics is not an easy task, which is why I thought I would share with you some of my favorite ways to get the job done.

The easiest way to keep track of your own wins is simply to DIY – do it yourself! I find that if you write down each of your wins – big or small – in a notebook or an app on your phone, you can easily refer back to that to see how many wins you have and where they were awarded.

Juniors can monitor results and statistics online, or you can DIY.

Other great places to find statistics and rankings are online sites such as the American Kennel Club, or perhaps one of the most popular sites, Today’s Best Junior. I also find that most breed-specific magazines publish Junior Showmanship rankings for that breed.

For those of you who have not visited Today’s Best Junior, I suggest you do – if you are interested in all things junior handling. In 2003, Julia Johns created the site, in her words, “for all juniors, past and present, to honor and recognize the commitment and achievements that each junior deserves.” Keeping and managing a site like this takes a lot of hard work and dedication, so I say to this former junior handler and current dog fancier, “I applaud your hard work and wish you many more successful years with your site!”

The AKC, however, provides statistics and rankings – for both conformation and performance juniors – in a few different formats. The main page for Junior Showmanship lists different options for finding statistics and more, but the most popular and one of the most useful features is the ability to get a copy of your Junior Showmanship Awards Report. This report lists all your most up-to-date awards from all competitions. It is not only useful when you may need to see your wins for qualifying shows, but it’s also great for juniors who have aged-out to keep for many years to come. Also as I’ve mentioned before, if you are a performance junior you can see the titles you have earned via the AKC’s Junior Showmanship page.

Now the sites listed above are just a few that I used when I was competing, and I still check them regularly for new statistics. But are these few enough? You be the judge, and be sure to add your tips for keeping track of junior results and statistics with a comment below!
