World Dog Show: Day 3, plus Favorite Performance Videos

Day 3 at the World Dog Show concluded yesterday with three more dogs chosen to compete in tonight’s Best in Show finale. Scenthounds, Pointers and Setters, plus Companion and Toy Dogs, shared the spotlight at the Hungexpo in Budapest where Karl Donvil has been following the events. Meet the dogs selected to represent Groups 6, 7 and 9 in Karl’s latest report.

Editor Susan Chaney enjoys writing about the amazing dogs and people who compete in performance events, and her research often leads her to some pretty extraordinary videos. When getting to an actual event isn’t possible, a well-edited video can provide a front row seat to a flyball, lure-coursing or canine freestyle competition. Check out this collection of some of Susan’s favorites.

Many of this year’s top show dogs are featured in their own beautiful mini-websites on Best In Show Daily. Simply click on a banner ad to see the dog’s up-to-date show history, plus a slide show of photos that reveals exactly why it’s a top dog.

My Favorite Things: Performance Event Videos
By Susan Chaney

One of the great parts of my job is writing about the amazing dogs and people who compete in agility, flyball, lure coursing, dock jumping and other performance events.

As an added bonus, I often come across videos of these trials and competitions. Some videos are professionally done. Others almost look professional. And still others are clearly by amateurs who just want to record their dogs’ performance. Regardless, I never skip the opportunity to watch dogs actually doing what it is I’m reporting on. more
