I want to be the first to let you, as DFR readers, know that I will be away for a few weeks. That’s right. As you read this, I am discovering the beautiful country of Thailand! It has actually been a while since I have been anywhere this exciting, and I’m really looking forward to finding out what I’ll experience while I’m here.

I will be bringing you my blogs straight from this part of the world, sharing my experiences and, if you know me, you’d better believe that I will be including lots and lots of photos!

The Thai Ridgeback is a native breed not frequently seen in the U.S. Photo by Dan Sayers.

While I’m in Thailand, I’ll have the chance to connect with fellow dog fanciers and breeders for the entirety of my trip. I will also be reconnected with some of the Beagles that I had at my house when they were just babies. Now these hounds are grown up with babies of their own!

I’m really looking forward to becoming immersed in the dog world while I’m in the country. So if you’re wondering if I’ll be attending a dog show while I’m here, you have no need to worry. I will be attending my first Thai show at the end of this month, and I plan on shooting lots of photos. I am also especially interested to see what the juniors competition is like over here. I was so impressed with the representative from this country at Crufts this year who made the final short list. If he is an example of what the future of the sport will be like over here, then I’m in for a treat.

I am also interested to watch my own breed in the ring, and hopefully I can see a few “new” breeds that we don’t have in the U.S.

I look forward to sharing bits and pieces of my experience with you, so if you have any questions about the dog world in Thailand, please don’t hesitate to ask. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.

I will also continue to bring you my twice-weekly blog with some great interviews, so keep an eye out for these. I’ve had the chance to line up a few really wonderful interviews with some great people in dogs that you won’t want to miss. Enjoy!
