Every dog has his day. I don’t know why it happens this way, but it seems that we frequently see multiple BIS from the same breed on the same weekend. This weekend the English Setters had their way with the competition.
In Concord, NC, the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaz’R ‘N Wingfield Time Will Tell, started the week without the prefix BIS in front of his name, but then stood up against some very serious challengers in Concord to end the weekend with back-to-back big rosettes. Our congratulations to breeder/owner-handler Eileen Hackett, co-breeders, Patricia Skol, Lois Biedron & Kathy Hanlon, and owners Don & Pat Coller.
It was just last weekend that the English Setter, GCH CH Aerden’s Pretty In Pink JH, picked up her very first all-breed Best. She has now followed it up this weekend with a second top prize at today’s Clinton, Iowa, Kennel Club show in De Witt. Our congratulations to breeders/owners Laurie Engle & Rose Miller, and handler Vito Ciaravino.
The Number One English Setter in the country, GCH CH Oakley’s B’Dazzled, has been in the Top Ten Dog All Breeds since the first weekend of the year when she won the Day One show of the Palm Springs Kennel Club. Yesterday, she was Helen Stein’s BIS at the Silver State Kennel Club show in Boulder City, NV. Kudos to breeders Jim Jannard & Paula Dempsey, owners Donald & Georgejean Jensen and Erik & Jennifer Strickland, and handler Bruce Schultz.
We don’t often see 13-inch Beagles winning Best in Show. So it is a real treat when we have two in the same weekend. Yesterday it was CH Vinla-Cabaret’s Gold Standard in Navasota, TX, at the Brazos Valley Kennel Club Show. Congratulations to breeders/owners Kevin & Darla Brooks, co-breeders T. Olson, K. Hackler & M. Golden, owner Sarah Ayers and handler Brooke Ayala. Today it was GCH CH Bougain’e Naughty-N-Lovely Alvin in Albany, OR, at the Day Two show of the Chintimini Kennel Club. Bravo to breeder/owner Somvorn Adungchongruk and handler Bobby Ott.
See? Just when you thought this year was starting to be predictable, we get some real surprises. And that’s today’s Back Story.
