Farewell Richard Beauchamp
A Titan passed this weekend. Our dear friend, mentor, Judge, Ambassador to the Fancy, Richard Beauchamp passed away Saturday at the age of 80 from cancer. Mr. Beauchamp left an indelible mark on the fancy in publishing, in his effort to win recognition of the Bichon Frise, to being The-man-with-the-most for Dogs In Review’s Winkie Awards. We will miss his smooth accent, keen intellect, fancy suits and shoes, and we will miss his friendly face & warmth around the Show ring. Rick was a gentleman and a true dog man. Our condolences to everyone that knew and loved this genius of a man.
Dreams Do Come True
It was a magical week for Diane Baker, coming off her Best In Show last weekend, her Chesapeake Bay Retriever Ch Albridens The Show Must Go On “Aries” won back-to-back Bests under Judges Katie Gammills on Saturday and Doug Johnson on Sunday. Diane Baker said:
It is nice to see a Chessie getting some recognition. It is always our hope to represent our breed the best we can. I think this is a dog that can make Chesapeake Fanciers proud. He is a breeders dream because he embodies the strength and athleticism that are hallmarks of the breed. As you can tell, I’m very fond of Aries! He is a “Stallion” of a dog! Thank you to Ms. Gammills & Mr. Johnson for recognizing his quality.”
Another back-to-back was celebrated when Miss P Ch Tashtins Lookin For Trouble “Miss P” won her second & third Best In Shows. Miss P is adding to her substantial record with five RBIS, nine Group Ones, three Groups Twos and a Group Three. She is expertly handled by Will Alexander and owned by Eddie Dzuik, Lori & Kaitlin Crandlemire & Brody Cavanaugh.
