A Comedy Night for Take the Lead, plus Shows Closing October 24, 2012

DFR Blogger Kayla Bertagnolli is spreading the word about the Comedy Night at the Harvest Moon Classic. The Del Valle Dog Club of Livermore and the Skyline Dog Fanciers of San Mateo County are hosting the event on Saturday, October 20, to support Take the Lead. The deadline to order tickets is tomorrow, so be sure to reserve a spot and show your support for one of the dog world’s finest philanthropic organizations.

Senior Editor Christi McDonald has discovered a few clubs that are demonstrating their appreciation for the exhibitor. From the hills of Massachusetts to California’s Wine Country, fanciers will have opportunities to take advantage of reduced fees and raise funds for a variety of service organizations. And on Veterans Day, at least one club will honor veteran dogs at its conformation show. Find out where older entrants will be given the chance to compete for Best Veteran in Show.

Many of this year’s top show dogs are featured in their own beautiful mini-websites on Best In Show Daily. Simply click on a banner ad to see the dog’s up-to-date show history, plus a slide show of photos that reveals exactly why it’s a top dog.

From honoring America’s service men and women, to a $500 scholarship for a junior handler, to wine tasting in the Napa Valley, club members are very thoughtful about adding those extras that make their shows memorable. more
