A dog book, circa 1976, presents the AKC-recognized breeds in a manner that’s not exactly politically correct. When the author couldn’t find a book that told him what he wanted to know, he wrote one himself. “Choosing the Right Dog: A Buyer’s Guide to All 121 Breeds” is a favorite of mine largely due to its forthright presentation.
