A Legendary Boxer and Lovanium Trophy 2012

Senior Editor Christi McDonald continues her series highlighting artwork on display at the American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog by featuring a painting of the 1951 Westminster winner, Ch. Bang Away of Sirrah Crest. Many of the Garden’s legendary winners are depicted on canvas at the St. Louis museum, including the Boxer that brought style and elegance to the breed in America. Find out why this immortal dog became a monumental figure in the art and the dog worlds.

Contributing writer Karl Donvil reports on the recent show organized by one of Belgium’s younger dog clubs. The Lovanium Trophy 2012 was held in the lively town of Leuven, with entries representing no fewer than 13 countries, including Italy, Russia and the U.K. Find out the total number of dogs that competed under an international panel of judges, and meet the beautiful Bearded Collie from the Netherlands that came out on top.
