Options for CCL Rupture Repair, plus Shows Closing January 9, 2013

Editor Susan Chaney interviews a surgeon at the Midwest Veterinary Referral Center in St. Louis to learn about the medical and surgical options currently available for repairing torn cranial cruciate ligaments. The not-uncommon condition affects the knee joint and may be diagnosed by a variety of methods. Find out about the two major kinds of CCL injuries, and discover the factors that predispose some dogs to this painful condition.

The mid-January shows close next week, and Senior Editor Christi McDonald has information about the all-breed and limited-breed events scheduled in five U.S. states. California, Oregon, Louisiana, Florida and Virginia will host shows where exhibitors can launch their dogs’ 2013 careers. Learn where Best Veteran, Best Puppy and Best Bred-by-Exhibitor competitions will be held, and find out which club is offering Best Brace competition as well.

Many of this year’s top show dogs are featured in their own beautiful mini-websites on Best In Show Daily. Simply click on a banner ad to see the dog’s up-to-date show history, plus a slide show of photos that reveals exactly why it’s a top dog.
