The Sydney Royal Show, plus Shows Closing April 24, 2013

Senior Editor Bo Bengtson delivers a report on one of the most ambitious dog shows to be organized anywhere in the world. The Sydney Royal show draws an impressive entry every year as part of the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales’ celebration of rural Australia. Meet the victorious American-bred Old English Sheepdog that went Best in Show, and find out from a visiting American what it’s like to be one of only three judges on the panel.

Shows are closing next week for several clusters that offer a rather remarkable variety of special events for both conformation and performance enthusiasts. Seminars, Coursing Ability Tests and a Meet the Breeds will accompany the all-breed and specialty shows at some of the venues in Kansas, New Mexico, Texas and Georgia. Find out all the details about several clusters planned for the Mother’s Day weekend.

Many of this year’s top show dogs are featured in their own beautiful mini-websites on Best In Show Daily. Simply click on a banner ad to see the dog’s up-to-date show history, plus a slide show of photos that reveals exactly why it’s a top dog.
