Saying ‘Goodbye’ to Bill Cunningham, plus How to Be a Blogger

Once more we must say “goodbye” to a friend of the dog sport – Bill Cunningham – who died on April 5. From his start as an apprentice at Dassin Poodles to his 35-year handling career and through nearly 20 years as an AKC judge, Bill was passionate about his work and his life. Indeed, he was serving his breed as the vice president of the Poodle Club of America at the time of his passing. Today Senior Editor Christi McDonald takes a look at his long career in dogs, pointing out that, “The dog world, and the Poodle world especially, were fortunate to have known him.” Almost everyone seems to harbor an urge to be a writer at one point or another. Whether it’s poetry, letters to the editor or a memoir, lots of regular people like to try their hand at penning something worth reading. Blogging is the easiest way to test out your writing chops or just share some aspect of your life with a larger audience. If you’ve considered launching a blog, don’t miss new contributor Carol Bryant’s article on how to make it successful. In Memoriam: Bill Cunningham By Christi McDonald
When Poodle Club of America’s National Specialty classes begin next Wednesday, one member in particular will be very much missed. Bill Cunningham was the vice president of PCA when he passed away on April 5, but to those who have known him during his more than 50 years in dogs, he was much more than a parent club officer. more
