I have mostly completed this weekend’s show reports for Dog Show Poop, and again we have a couple of clear winners. The Maltese, GCH CH Scylla’s Small Kraft Re-Lit, continued his meteoric rise (see Upwardly Mobile Dogs) through the rankings with a BIS at Sunday’s Chintimini Kennel Club in Albany, OR. The win should be good enough to move him into the top half of the Top 100 Dogs All Breeds.
The Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller N Lore’s Diamond Lil, picked up her first all-breed Best on March 18th and followed up with another yesterday. Scout was already sitting at the Number 38 spot in the all-breed race. I suspect the win will put her close to the Top 30. This bitch’s photo reminds me why I am a proponent of ear cropping.
Kuvaszok are gentle and unassuming with great determination. So we should not be surprised that the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, AKC’s Number Two Working Dog, has quietly climbed all the way up to the Number Three all-breed spot. A Group One and a Best in Show at this weekend’s Silver State Kennel Club shows in Boulder City, NV, will put Tanner well ahead of Number Four and substantially closer to Number Two.
The big winner has to be the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction. The reigning AKC/Eukanuba National Champion has a habit of taking a weekend off and coming back with all his batteries charged to have a multiple BIS performance. This weekend London was in Manitowoc, WI, to pull off back-to-to-back BIS at the Packerland Kennel Club’s two shows. London started the week as the Number Eight Dog All Breeds. Check with us at Dog Show Poop to see if he makes it into the Top Five.
I have to say, the real winners this week were the spectators who made it to an AKC show. We had several dogs receiving their first BIS and breeds going Best we don’t see often at the top. All in all, it was a very good week. And that’s today’s Back Story.
